+ Spacious rooms, great en suite, all beautifully clean. Friendly, welcoming, knowledgable hosts. Lovely generous breakfasts and packed lunches. Very useful having the honesty bar available. We hired bikes on a couple of days from the hotel which was an added bonus, had amazing days out cycling about the meadows and mountains.
- The kettle in the bar area where we could make tea/coffee was very slow to boil. Just a minor niggle, nothing to put anyone off but this was the only slight negative I could think of.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful - able to recommend places to eat, where to get information on walks, etc. We had a suite with a mountain view - worth the extra couple euros! Felt very homey and relaxed, the breakfast was delicious and we only wish we could have stayed longer!

Family-run hotel, advisable without any reserve

I. THE ACCOMODATION
First of all: The hotel is very tidy, the rooms very clean (and clean in a "during our 12 night stay, even the shower-curtain has been replaced and the bathroom mirror has been wiped on a daily basis"-sense), the beds aren't worn and the breakfast offers a fair selection of cereals, antipasti, breads, cheese, meat, cooked food, sweets.
Basically, what you would expect from a good hotel, you will find at Hotel Gasperin. And while this may be the foundation on which the very well deserved reviews originate, it is not what makes Gasperin stand out.
Hotel Gasperin is a family-run hotel, living up to just that description: You will find the children or at times the parents of your hosts bustling about as much as other travellers, giving the place a very homely atmosphere.
They will find time for a short chat even during the breakfast hours, making sure you feel being a guest and not "Room No. 21".
In order to keep this reasonably short, let me share some of our more memorable findings:
- In the lounge, you will find free water, coffee and teas and an "honesty bar" (a self-service drink and snack bar, where guests are invited to help themselves, writing down what they took so they may be billed (at reasonable prices) upon check-out).
- The cleaning is not only done very properly, but by the owner himself. Whistling about in his generally good mood.
- For breakfast, eggs (fried, scrambled, omlette, hard boiled, etc.) will be made to the guests liking, served at the table.
- We had to leave at about 4am. When we dropped our key at the reception desk, we found a breakfast-pack with sandwhiches, fruits, drinks and sweets for our drive. Milk was left out at the bar, so we could fill a can of coffee as well.
To sum things up: If you just look for a bed, you might find alternatives around. If you look for a place where you feel like "coming home" after a day out in the nature, or to just sit, drink a coffee and read a good book like someone had the decency to replace your terrace here, I am very certain, that you will figure out why family Gasperin is the award winning accomodation in Ribcev Laz.
II. THE AREA
Most likely you will have made up your mind, when looking for an accomodation already. However, let me chip in a few thoughts about Slovenia and the Bohinj area (where Ribcev Laz is located).
Slovenia is not a big country, nor a densly populated one. Mountains (depending on the season: suitable for both skiing and hiking), a beautiful lake and several waterfalls and gorges are in walking distance or reachable by car, hop-on busses (during season) or iconically: per boat (which, in turn, is a 3 minute walk from the hotel).
The capital city of Ljubljana is within an 1.5 hours drive, and there is a bus line going directly from Ribcev Laz to Ljubljana. Tourist information, supermarket and post office are within a 2 minute walk.
Excellent Location & Epic Breakfast

We stayed here for about 10 days,to partake in some skiing at Vogel and do some wandering around. Everything was most excellent.
There was another family staying there with a child that was lactose intolerant / could not eat dairy. As a result the following breakfast buffets had the owners specifically using non-dairy goods just to cater for this. This is in addition to the usual bonanza of breakfast food available.
Also their rooms are great, excellent balconies, super central heating, very helpfull with renting cars / bikes / ski passes.
10/10 would have breakfast there again.

It is a vary nice and cosy place and we will come back for sure! The room was very clean during our stay and warm as well - just what you need after all day on the slopes. Peter gave us advice on places of interest and local food restaurants that we enjoyed until the last day of our stay! We were snowboarding on Vogel ski resort and it's only about 5-10 min drive from the hotel. We fell in love with Slovenia - the people, the nature and the Love in the air is what we will come back for! Thank you & see you next time!

The hotel is in a good location, close to the lake, shops, restaurants.The owners are extremely friendly. Room for four where we were (in the attic) is brand new and has a great layout, a small refrigerator and dining area. Mattresses are a little too hard for our taste, but quickly get used to it. Wifi worked well.Breakfast very good, the choice is not too large, but everything is delicious. Eggs with ham recommend.In the event of a further stay in Bohinj I will certainly stay again in this hotel.

We loved our stay in Gašperin! Everything was excellent from accommodation to breakfast. The room was very clean and cosy, with a beautiful mountain view. The owners are very nice and polite people ready to give you all the infromation you need for your wonderful stay in Bohinj. We just loved the long romantic walks around the beautiful Bohinj lake and woods. When we came everything was covered in snow and truly looked like in a fairy tail. Bled is also very near so we had a lot of options for sightseeing and things to do. We only wish that we could have stayed longer and hope we will return next winter!

We have stay in Pension Gasperin for a few days and I have to say that place is beautiful for relax. Very nice atmosphere in Pension. It is cute and clean place. It is more family place and they are realy care about you and your time. Thay will recommanded to you everything what is nice and where to go. Free WiFi and SAT TV. Parking in a front of Pension. Pension Gasperin is very good connected with Ski center Vogel, from lake maybe 5 min to walk. In the winter it is very good position for skiing, 4 km to next Wellnes and Pool and about 20 km to visit lake Bled. But on the summer ....I will go there like MUST VISIT. Walk around Lake Bohinj.....Triglav nacional park ....you can ride horses....Beautiful.Room Tip: Foe family you have some apartmans but my opinion that in middle are the best, becouse of big terase

Whether you're a single, back-packing mountain climber, a couple just looking to 'kick back,' or a family wanting to enjoy the best Slovenia has to offer, you can't beat Gasperin as a base for youractivities. Clean rooms of various sizes (Wi-Fi), great breakfast, afternoon 'tea-room' with board games and reading materials, and a most gracious host couple. Even if you're without a car, justwalk several minutes and you have a local restaurant, grocery store (Mercator), tourist office, post office, and bus stop sitting right next to one another. Kelly and Peter will also gladly help you plan your day(s) : stay local, hiking at lake (Bohinj) level or getting up higher via an exciting gondola ride to the hills above the lake ; biking to pleasant nearby villages. Lake Bohinj can also be the start of a more vigorous trek to famous Mt. Triglav. Of course, you can day trip to almost any other place in Slovenia with car or bus. Only wish California were closer ! Enjoy (uzivaj !)

Pension Gasperin is in our opinion the best possible option to stay in Bohinj. we had a kitchenette that was very clean and functional. The terrace had a table and two chairs; it was lovely sitting out there. Grocery store was walking distance as was the lake. We drove around lake from there as well as hiked the many trails in the area. We were not on the breakfast plan as we had our own food and kitchen but it is an option.

This is a lovely family run hotel with a real focus on providing excellent service. Rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was fantastic. Like the title says, a nice spot for a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Now the good, bad and ugly:Good - Exceptionally clean apartment with a comfortable bed and balcony. While we didn't cook in the apartment, it was nice to have a kitchen area along with plates and glasses. Decent shower and pretty solid breakfasts. And by pretty solid, it is nice not having to rush to get first dibs or risk getting left with the dregs. Peter is great at keeping everything stalked! Good advice regarding local attractions and very good location as the starting point for a couple hikes. My personal recommendation is to hike up to Sija and then down to the Vogel gondola where you can get a decent bowl of soup and hot chocolate at the cafe. Take the gondola down and walk along the lake for a great day out. Long day, but beautiful. Also, close to the hotel are restaurants, (Center for pizza) tourist info point, small grocery store and outdoor activity areas.Bad - the walls are a little thin, so you can hear your neighbour. As well, if you are especially sensitive to road noise, this place may not be ideal as it is on the main road. But, by main road, it is a mountain town, so main road is used loosely. It didn't bother me during the night, but if I wanted a lie in, it likely would have been annoying. Note that I am a light sleeper. My gf, a heavy sleeper, didn't realise there was a road!Ugly - noneNoteworthy - I would recommend renting a car if you want to explore the neighbouring villages; however, if you don't the hotel is 5 minutes from the bus stop. Another alternative is to take a shuttle from the airport. Drops you off right at the hotel for €24. 1 hour travel time as opposed to 1.5-2.

Lake Bled has the famous sights but it also has the tourists. Go to Lake Bohinj to enjoy the wonderful countryside with beautiful lake and awesome mountains. Pension Gasperin is a great place to stay while there. Rooms are large with a balcony to enjoy the mountain views. Floors are wood and tile, alpine style. Free wifi. Great breakfast with something different every day - sausage or bacon, waffles with caramel sauce, cakes, yogurt, cereals, cheeses, meats, breads, fruit, eggs to order. Room has fridge and table and chairs. Hosts are helpful without being in your face. There is a notebook full of information about the area (although some of it needs updating).We'd happily come back for another week of hiking in the area.

Peter gave us a friendly welcome on arrival, spike great English and suggested a stunning walk from Mt Vogel. The rooms were well equipped, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. Not the most characterful or unique place to stay.

Hotel di recente ristrutturazione, praticamente nuovo. Le camere sono ben tenute,spaziose e luminose. Abbiamo soggiornato solo con prima colazione (ricco buffet dolce e salato). I giovani proprietari si sono dimostrati gentili,accoglienti e disponibili ad assistere i clienti pur non pronunciando una sola parola italiana. Veramente commoventi. Location was perfect, we did several dayhikes to the mountains close by and it's easy to move around by bikes, no car was necessary. There are only good things to say about B&B Gasperin! The owners were very helpful and gave good tips what to do. Room where we stayed our eight night trip was large with a small kichen, clean and quiet. Breakfast was magnificent and plenty of another services were available (laundry, bocket lunch etc). We are coming back for sure, still a lot to do and this is the place to stay if you want to have sporty and active vacation. -Two girls from Finnland

Everything about our B and B stay here was perfect. The rooms are large and clean and comfortable. We were two friends and did not want to sleep very close to eachother as twin beds often are in this part of the world so the owners very obligingly put up another bed on the other side of the room with no fuss. They were informative and helpful and friendly although always busy. As said elsewhere the road is certainly not a problem as it is quiet at night. The breakfast is wonderful, too, fresh and varied and the location os very good, with a short walk down to th Ribcev Laz centre and all amenities and the lake. It is such a beautiful area, with lots to do that I'd really recommend a visit both to the place and this B and B.Room Tip: worth having a balcony

Wir waren im Juli 2014 eine Woche lang in dieser Pension und waren begeistert. Das Hotel wird von einer sehr netten Besitzerfamilie geführt. Das WLAN funktionierte tadellos; das Zimmer war sauber, der Service gut und das Frühstück sehr abwechslungsreich. Das Hotel ist unbedingt weiterzuempfehlen.

When we arrived we were greeted by a lady who spoke wonderful English - she gave us a map of the area and showed us the relevant places we were interested in. The room was very comfortable with a modern bathroom and a small fridge to use. Breakfast was brilliant - eggs on request, bacon, bread, fruit, cakes, yoghurt, etc - much better than the average hotel continental breakfast buffet. We then realised we hadn't printed our boarding passes to get home and when asked the reception staff immediately printed them off for us. 5 minutes walk to the lake. Would definitely stay here again!

Do not be put of by it being next to a road - really don't ! The design of the building, especially with an extensive first floor terrace and sizeable balconies to the rooms overlooking the terrace mean that you are unaware of the road. All you see are the snow capped mountains as a backdrop to the hay meadows and the well-kept houses in the village. All you hear (well in May anyway) are cuckoos and the occasional cow bell as the herds are moved around.Truly knowledgeable owners who give an excellent and concise 'induction' on arrival so that there is no excuse for not having a perfectly planned stay taking in all or none of the fabulous things to see and do around and about Lake Bohinj. Welcoming environment with free beverages in the afternoon / evenings and the cleanest most well-designed rooms imaginable. Lights on sensors in the corridors and faster Wi-Fi than I have at work.Oh, and then there's breakfast in a room which I would imagine is as cosy during the skiing season as it is airy in the Summer. When offered eggs on arrival have a look around the rest of the food on offer (especially the trays of local dishes which vary every day) - consider what you would be prepared not to try (in no way miss out on the fried garlic sausage and courgettes with mushrooms and tomatoes - assuming it's there when you go) and then decline reluctantly. Yes, the eggs can be served in as many ways as the guests can imagine but you simply won't have space for everything else.You may have guessed that I loved this place.

O preço é justo e a equipe do hotel é prestativa e simpática. A estrutura é nova e o café da manha é excelente, com certeza o ponto alto do hotel. Como era baixa temporada e o hotel estava quase vazio o dono nos concedeu um upgrade de quarto sem custos adicionais.

Peccato che il tempo non sia stato dalla "nostra" altrimenti avremmo fatto una super-vacanza !!!Classico alberghetto di montagna, in zona incantevole, camera grande con letto matrimoniale e con 2 letti sul 'corridoietto', vista sulle montagne e 300 metri dal lago. Unica pecca il bagno troppo piccolo e senza bidet , il mitico bidet.........Colazione varia ed abbondante, parcheggio privato e personale gentilissimo. Molto bene nel complesso.

We have 4 company of men who were skiing on Voglu.V hotel, super friendly staff, so as the owner's wife. Breakfast is wonderful. Dinner also by distance from the hotel about 300m but great. Rooms clean and tidy and spacious. We had reserved a small room with no balcony, but because those days have not been available rooms with balconies us staying in them. Preferably 100%.

This hotel is great! The beds are seriously the best I've ever slept in. Like seriously, the beds are incredible. Peter Gasperin and his wife, who runs/owns the hotel are great people. They really go out of their way to help you out. Their ski deals are amazing value for money. We spent two days here while skiing at Vogel.

I keep coming back here. Friendly staff and lovely rooms. The self catering apartments are the best. It's near the lake and a short drive to Bled. Compared to most accommodation in the area, it's neither too large and soulless or too small and drab. It's just perfect.

“Could not be beaten”

My partner and I stayed here for one night mid-December. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were so impressed with Pension Gasperin. We were (as far as we could tell) the only guests that night (I guess as it's off-peak season). We were greeted with the news that we'd been given a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. We were also supplied with a free map of the area, and really helpful advice about where to eat that evening and what walks and attractions to make time for. The room was absolutely spotless. It was a good temperature, and the furnishing and decor was functional but tasteful. We were a bit concerned that breakfast the next morning might be limited as it was clear we were the only guests, but there was a huge selection; cold meats, cheese, bread, toast, rolls, marmalade, jams, fruit, cereal, cakes and much more. Breakfast is a self-service buffet which we preferred, as there's no pressure of waiting staff hanging over you. We were offered cooked eggs at the beginning of the meal, but there was such a wide selection already provided that neither of us felt the need for anything else. Wi-fi is free, location is fantastic. Note that they normally charge for use of a kettle (however, did waive this fee during our stay!!)We only wish we'd booked to spend more of our trip in Bohinj, rather than moving on to Ljubljana so quickly.

Pros: Compared to other B&Bs I've stayed at in Europe, B&B Gasperin offers a more than adequate breakfast, with your choice of preparation for eggs.
Location: Feels less touristy than Lake Bled, with lots of outdoor activities. Hiking, swimming, kayaking, paragliding, and just relaxing are all available.
Welcoming, relaxing - with a bountiful breakfast and tips on the area. For me, staying at B&B Gasperin for 4 days was delightful. They're well stocked with board games when the weather turns wet and let me leave my luggage for the morning on the day I was leaving.

“A great place to stay”
We stayed here for a week last year, and again this summer because we liked it so much! The accommodation is immaculate, and the couple who run it are really friendly and helpful with excellent local knowledge. There are lots of outdoor activities to do in this lovely area such as swimming in the lake, biking (we hired them from the Pension), walking, running and horse riding (great fun on the icelandic ponies)

The location of the hotel is perfectly situated near the lake, but not too close, so you still get some peace and quiet. The owners and staff are very friendly and forth coming. They also know very good English and German. The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. The price is also fair, considering everything they offer, from free wifi, satellite tv, along with all the amenities that one would require, along with very spacious and comfortable rooms and apartments. It feels just like being at home!Room

ボーヒニ湖の中心部に観光インフォメーションセンターや、スーパーマーケットがありますが、そこまで徒歩5分とかかりません。バス停もそこにあります。車でアクセスする場合は、もう少し離れたところでもいいかもしれませんが、バス移動の場合はとても便利です。 設備も改装したばかりなのか、とてもきれいで清潔。キッチンもありますが、やかんや鍋などは別料金のようです。冷蔵庫、電子レンジあります。 家族での滞在をターゲットにしていると思いますが、1人で泊まっても一泊12000円ほどで、充分な値段でした。 若干照明が暗いですが、ヨーロッパのホテルはどこもこんな感じでしょう。大変オススメです。
